Toua’s Vlog & Interview Coverage
Author/Photographer: Kai Her / Kai Her & Toua Her - March 6th, 2025
I am long overdue for a blog! Due to unexpected occurrences and trying to balance my leisure time with my family, teaching full time, being around cars, weight training at the gym, and just gaming on the PC; it’s been tough to toil through all that while trying to keep the site alive when you really are just a one man. It’s a tough gig. LOL!
A few weekends ago, Toua have reached out to me that he would love to vlog and interview about my build history with the S2000. The goal was to reflect and talk about how I obtained the car, how I built it over the past years of ownership, and where I am currently with the build. Of course, I made myself available because when you do really get a chance to have a youtuber reach out to you with this kind of opportunity? We got a date scheduled an I’m super stoked about preparing the S2000 for the shoot and vlog. I swapped out the Nardo Gray Te37’s and reinstalled the Desmond Regamaster MP’s. After getting the height dialed end, swapped out my rotors, and bled my whole brake system the night before the vlog, the S2000 became immobile the morning of the shoot.
I couldn’t figure out what caused my S2000 to not move and it was a huge disappointment for the both of us! Toua was already 30 minutes away from my house and I have messaged him the S2000 was not moving. LOL! After much exchanges of messages, we both agreed and with much defeat, rescheduled the shoot to the new year.
I wasn’t just going to take this loss so after confirming with Toua that we were just going to reschedule the interview, I tore the front knuckles apart trying to figure out why my rotors weren’t spinning. Initially, the thought the Spoon monoblocks were seized, but that is highly impossible when they are only months old. Then, I thought maybe I didn’t bleed my system accurately and that could have caused a failure to the system. When I decided to take off the rotor and inspect it, I realized that the bolt I used for my monoblocks were the wrong length. After I used the hardware provided my Spoon, everything worked perfectly. Although, I couldn’t get through the interview that morning with Toua, at least, now I know I can drive the S2000 around again and will definitely be ready for our next appointment.
I don’t think I’m much of a vlogger myself. I’m a bit too camera shy and just don’t feel too comfortable being on camera and then posting it for the whole world to see on Youtube. Perhaps, I can do a POV narration of shows I will attend and expose the internet to the car scene in the central valley. It will probably be the only reason why I would grab a video camera and begin vlogging. Although, this is another chapter of my life to revisit, I’m quite content with just blogging at this moment.
Enough rambling on though, during this time, I would like to thank Toua for driving out of his way to come interview me about my S2000. His Youtube channel will be at the bottom of the blog alongside the vlog of my S2000. Just in case if you haven’t seen it yet, be forewarn that I was trying really hard to be comfortable on camera. So I apologize in advance if I talked too fast or if my English annunciation wasn’t accurate. Excuse me, I’m a second language English learner.
While Toua was getting busy gathering content of my S2000 on his camera, on my camera, I thought I capture his art. It was quite different to be taking a picture of another photographer taking pictures of your car because I had to remind myself to shift my camera subject from the car to the attention of Toua.
We roamed around UC Merced and found plenty of spots throughout the campus that I was able to maneuver my S2000 around. In total, we were able find three locations around the campus. I’m glad the security didn’t kick us out. If they did, we would have kindly respected that.
My most anticipated shots from the whole interview were the rolling shots we did. I live right by the country side of Merced so it was easy to find a nice empty road to capture these photos as well as the few in the album (located at the bottom of this page). I just wanted to act natural while Toua worked his magic.
This photo was my favorite rolling shot from the entire album. I guess it’s because I get to see what I have built in motion and in a still picture.
(Reminding myself my camera subject was Toua and not my S2000. Another big thanks to Toua! He really took his time to study and analyze the S2000 as he continuous took pictures of the car.)
(Something else to acknowledge was just how diligent Toua was. He ensure to not smear or touch my car at all. Unless he had or asked for my permission! LOL! Very professional indeed!)
Toua brought his DJI rig, his camera gear, and like every experienced photographer/videographer out there, plenty of extra batteries. My S2000 trunk almost couldn’t fit all of his gear just because Toua wanted to make sure he was able to leave no stones unturned.
Well, that pretty much sums up this short series, fellas. I rather have you enjoy Toua’s video and watch that rather than reading!
Another last shout out to Toua and his efforts in making this happen. “I appreciate the opportunity! You were awesome, kind, and very down to earth to talk to! Don’t be a stranger and I’ll see you around, bro! Peace!”
